Pantone Cabaret: Vibrant and Energizing

If you're a pink girl, you're in luck because the color forecasters at Pantone have included a vibrant pink in the spring 2012 color palette!
For this set I chose three extraordinary shades using Pantone’s spring 2012 Color Forecast: Cabaret, Sweet Lilac and Driftwood. Cabaret (bracelet & shoes), a vibrant, electric pink; Sweet Lilac (dress), a total contrast to Pantone’s Cabaret, is a delicate pinkish lilac, which inspires summertime romance in any wardrobe, and Driftwood (coat)  an amazing blend of gray and beige and a stylish neutral.
Our Life in Pink bracelet, made with bombona seeds, adds a touch of eco- glamour to the outfit. Find it at Irma Guzman Eco Jewelry.

Tangerine Tango: Pantone's 2012 Color of the Year

Tangerine Tango, a warm and cheerful reddish orange, has been named the 2012 color of the year by Pantone, the world's authority on color, and it is described as a “Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”

Tangerine tango is a versatile choice since it complements a spectrum of colors including yellow, purple, turquoise, brown and green and above all it flatters all skin tones.
We were delighted to know that Pantone named it the color of the year because precisely that hue has been a centerpiece of many of our fall and spring collections. Glad to know that Irma Guzman Eco Jewelry is ahead of the curve!

This is so me!

(…) style is not about being a follower of trends, coveting this or that season must-have; it’s about carefully selecting pieces that deserve to be in your closet because they represent you. Personal style is something that lasts through years and fads (…)” EcoSalon, e-magazine

I have always said that jewelry should not only be part of your closet but also spread the word about who you are. Instead of going out there as someone's mannequin, find statement pieces that let people know you are not like everyone else. It's good to be tasteful, but it's even better to be memorable, unforgettable.

So, how can you select that statement piece that represents who you are? There are many considerations to take into account before buying it, but number one is, you have to fall in love with it! It doesn't matter how much effort went into the making of a necklace or bracelet; your desire for it must be immediate. Of course, it's a treat to realize that the piece you are wearing is handmade, organic and with lots of seeds, but first you really have to fall in love, you have to feel the connection between you and that accessory.

Do you have a statement accessory that represents your style? Does it make you stand out from the crowd? Does it make you say "this is so me"?

The following selections can represent your uniqueness, precisely because they are one-of-a-kind,(just like you) so, fall in love with the one that best describes your style, make it yours, and let it speak for you!

Deep Teal: Irma's favorite color Fall/Winter 2011

Irma's favorite color Fall/Winter 2011
Deep teal: I am in love with this beautiful Pantone color. To me, it symbolizes elegance, sophistication and with a touch of mystery. Pantone describes it as “a strong, blue-toned green, suggests ocean depths and the color of the sky as daylight descends into darkness.” I think there is going to be a lot of it around!

The 10 Pantone hues that will color your look for Fall/Winter 2011

Pantone, the global authority on color for design industries, has announced the Fashion Color Palette for Fall/Winter 2011. These are the top 10 colors that will prevail this upcoming season. From left to right: Bamboo, Emberglow, Honeysuckle, Phlox, Cedar, Deep Teal, Coffee Liqueur, Nougat, Orchid Hush and Quarry.

And these are our favorites, Irma Guzman Eco Jewelry is proud to have the closest matching Pantone colors for necklaces.

Cedar, a mossy, sandy green that "evokes the freshness of a cool mist in a dark forest" as Pantone puts it. Our Evergreen necklace from the Amazon Rainforest Collection is a good representation of this neutral color.

Honeysuckle (right), a vibrant reddish pink that mixes well with the other 9 colors in the palette.
Phlox (left), named after the flower, is described by Pantone as a "magical deep purple with a hint of mystery." We have mixed these two amazing colors to create Aurora Borealis, which is part of the Amazon Rainforest Collection. Romantic and elegant for a night on the town.
Nougat, a neutral, that could be defined as creamy and warm. Consider Phlox, Honeysuckle, or Emberglow for a feminine touch. Our Baru necklace from our Amazon Rainforest Collection fits perfectly this description. Feminine and stunning this design will garner attention.
We often think of yellow as more of a summer color, but Pantone's Bamboo will take your fall outfits to a new level this year. Our Olivia Necklace is a good representation of this stunning color. A multitude of tagua petals will add a pop of fashion to your wardrobe.
One of our favorites is Coffee Liqueur, an elegant, deep earthen neutral that can be used as a warmer substitute for black. For bold impact mix it with Honeysuckle or Emberglow. True artistry meets Hot Coffee and Tahiti necklaces in an exciting combination of earthly colors.
Are you ready to update your look?

Choosing the right necklace length

The length of a necklace is a matter of importance for both designers and consumers. As a designer, I take into consideration these factors: shapes and texture of the materials; necklace length and style; necklines of clothing; color trends; and the best occasion to wear it. As a consumer, a necklace length influences our overall style: it can enhance our outfit (or ruin it) hide imperfections or accentuate our beautiful parts.

Collar (12-13 inches)
This necklace lies on the neck. It is made of two or more strands. For an elegant and classy look, wear it V-neck tops, boat neck or off the shoulder outfits. One reminder, if you have a rounded face shape, or if your neck is short, don’t wear it or it makes your face rounder or your neck shorter. It compliments an evening look.

Choker (14-16 inches)
Lies just below the neckline. It is made of single or multi strands. It can go with any outfit from casual to fancy. Perfect for any time of day and occasion.

Princess (17-19 inches)
This is a very popular necklace length. Great for crew, high and low plunging necklines. This length is great for a pendant. Depending on what you wear, a Princess necklace has a versatile length for both daytime and evening.

Matinee (20-24 inches)
This necklace sits right above your chest and are elegant for casual and business dressing. It compliments a higher neckline. Just be careful when wearing this type of necklace, make sure your outfit is not too overpowering. You want either your outfit or your necklace to pop, not both.

Opera (28-34 inches)
This is the most flexible necklace length out of all lengths. Ideal for classic or casual attire. It works with both high or crew necklines; and turtle neck in winter. A lot of office ladies like this necklace length because they can wear it differently during and after work.

Rope or Lariat (Over 45 inches)
A minimum of 45 inches with clasps placed in strategic locations. You can wear it as a single layer, double or even triple! As great as it sounds, a Rope length is not for everyone, and it is one of those make-or-break-your-outfit type of necklace.
