Pantone's Top Colors for Spring 2014

Image Events by Elaine

Pantone recently came out with their top colors picks for Spring, 2014!  It's fun to see Pantone's tops picks for the new season. This color palette consists of "pairing soft pastels with vivid brights to create a colorful equilibrium. Inspired by a mixture of blooming flowers, travels abroad and strong, confident women, designers use color to refresh, revive and defy conventional wisdom." says Pantone. So let's dive into this lovely list!

1. Radiant Orchid

The 2014 Color of the Year! Pantone defines it as "a captivating harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones",  an expressive, creative and embracing purple" that "emanates great joy, love and health." It's elegant, romantic and flatters any skin tone.

Pair  Radiant Orchid with  Dazzling BlueHemlock, Freesia

2. Dazzling Blue

Described as "a peppy shade of cobalt", "a polar opposite to  Placid Blue",this color is full of elegance, beauty and richness and is associated with royalty and all things bright.

Pair Dazzling Blue with Celosia Orange,Radiant Orchid, Freesia, or Hemlock

Our collection of Dazzling Blue accessories: Rose necklace, the Armor of God bracelet, Persian Nights necklace, Lola keychain.

3. Celosia Orange

This is another of my favorite shades for Spring, I find it lively and fun. I suggest pairing this fiery hue with  Dazzling Blue for high impact or Placid Blue for an easy, breezy look!

An advice from Pantone: "Pair Celosia Orange with Violet Tulip  for a captivating vision, much like the setting summer sun."

Add a touch of color to your purse with the Lola keychain!

4.Freesia

This happy hue captures all the goodness of a beautiful sunshine filled day! I suggest pairing Freesia with Dazzling Blue, (again!!) or Paloma (gray).

Pantone says: " Cayenne heightens the excitement when mixed with Freesia" ... Ohh la la!!

The Cartagena Necklace will definitely take you away from the cold!

5. Cayenne

Defined by Pantone as “a high-pitched red, adds a dash of spicy heat to neutrals, and "heightens the excitement when mixed with Freesia" I absolutely love this deep coral hue. Warm, eye-catching and captivating!

Pair Cayenne  with Dazzling Blue, or Hemlock

6.  Placid Blue

It's another shade that made the list and  it's just "like a picture-perfect, tranquil and reassuring sky, induces a sense of peaceful calmness".

Pair Placid Blue with Dazzling Blue,Radiant Orchid or Celosia Orange "for an au courant look."

This Gaia bracelet surely captures the colors of the sky, the sea and the sand!

It's "a romantic, vintage purple" that  "evokes wistful nostalgia" says Pantone. I suggest pairing this sweet shade of purple with Placid Blue, Radiant Orchid or Hemlock.

Green orange peel roses and bombona seeds in violet make for a beautiful necklace that is both easy to wear and a conversation piece.

8.  Paloma

A pretty neutral, "interesting enough to be worn alone or combined with any color for sophisticated poise".
Pair  Paloma with bolder hues such as Dazzling Blue,  Radiant Orchid, Cayenne or  Freesia.

9.   Hemlock

Hello Pistachio! This pretty, super-pale green "provides a decorative touch that's very different from the greens of recent seasons" says Pantone. Wear Hemlock tone on tone with a brighter shade of green. Or for a less expected combination, choose a complementary red-based hue such as Cayenne Violet Tulip, or (if you're feeling daring),Radiant Orchid.

10. Sand

Ahh .. we love this neutral! Pantone defines it as "a lightly toasted and amiable neutral, conjures images of the beach and the carefree days of summer. " and we couldn't agree more!!
Try pairing Sand with Dazzling Blue to achieve a nautical inspired look. Or consider mixing it with Cayenne or Celosia Orange  for a palette that will surely wow!

So what do you think? Any favorites that stand out for you?

Diane von Furstenberg's Oasis

The Diane von Furstenberg's Spring 2014 show during New York Fashion Week, really caught our attention! Her collection, inspired by the idea of an Oasis, featured zebra-print jumpsuit, bold prints, crop tops paired with skirts and trousers, safari-inspired linens, and column dresses, presented in colors named “Chili pepper” and “Aztec blue.”

Of course, this collection included her iconic wrap dress that highlights a woman's best assets, and has remained with the same characteristics for over 40 years: a deep V neckline, a waist-cinching tie belt and a knee-skimming hemline.

"Oasis...An island unto herself, she emerges in black and white with pops of red, a mix of quiet calm and joie de vivre." DVF

These shoes absolutely add a pop of color!

"What I wanted to do was create in this world that's a little terrifying and scary, I wanted to create an oasis of peace, of beauty, of color and of harmony," she said in a backstage interview. "I care about making the woman feel beautiful."
Supermodel Naomi Campbell wore the finale look at Diane von Furstenberg's show Sunday. The look: a black, gold and white knit macrame sleeveless shift dress. Definitely a show-stopper!

Our favorite look: this stunning dress printed with lions and giraffes that would look fabulous with our Sahara bracelet.
The combination of natural materials, shapes and textures, all brought together into one harmonious bracelet, makes this piece of jewelry a true work of art.

So what do you think? We'd love to hear your thoughts!

A Stylish Summer

The temperatures may be spiking, but these chic summer looks will help you play it cool while looking easy, breezy and stylish.

Brunch With The Girls

For this special occasion a silk maxi dress is lively and laid-back. Do your own color blocking with contrasting accessories like this tagua nut necklace that you can find at Irma Guzman Eco Jewelry.

Traveling

From packing to looking up flight schedules and weather conditions, traveling can be very stressful. Opt for a chic, fuss-free look, wear clothes that you can layer, a lacy camisole or a fitted t-shirt, jeans, and a lightweight jacket or scarf in case the plane gets chilly. Our Adriana earrings pair nicely with this look.

Seaside/Pool Party

Playing it safe in the summer sun doesn't have to be at the cost of style. A straw hat is a must for sunny days, sunglasses, a flirty eyelet cover-up keeps the sun off but still allows your shape to show through.  To complement the look an eye-catching tagua nut necklace that you can find at Irma Guzman Eco Jewelry.

Want fabulous color and protection this summer? Both Celadon Road by, Amanda Moser Arkans, Sunscreen SPF 20 and Tinted Sunscreen SPF 22 protect the skin while delivering gradual, natural-looking color. Find Celadon Road by Amanda on Facebook.

When you are on your time, you don't want to spend it agonizing over what to wear. So reach for go-tos that are cool and easy. Jewelry counts, too. The Calypso necklace, made with turquoise bombona seeds, is an easy-to-wear piece that can bring exotic island flavor to any sundress.

Weekend

Whether you want to do a little shopping, meet up with friends, or just walk around town, this is just what your need!  The Rosario Islands necklace pairs nicely with this look.
